Emily Jeffords put us on a mission with the following questions; Why do I Create? What is my vision for my artwork? Why does my work matter?
Below are a few thoughts.
WHY DO YOU CREATE?
I see a beautiful world around me, bursting with colour and vibrancy and love and hope. My vision is to transfer this energy that surrounds us onto canvas so that moments in time can be captured forever.

WHAT MEANING DOES YOUR CREATIVE WORK BRING TO YOUR LIFE?
My creative works bring to life the core values and concepts of Judaism. My view of the world is shaped by Hashem (G-d) and my belief in an infinite creator who is running the world with purpose and meaning. My artworks develop the concept that everything, (even a rock!) has depth and intention and all were put on this earth with a mission.

HOW DOES IT BENEFIT OTHERS?
By purchasing a Sharon Schurder Artwork, my clients can also be part of the evolving journey of bringing Jewish thought and traditions back to life. Because of the depth of each piece, their owners can utilize the artwork’s power to energize habitual Jewish rituals, remind them of a greater purpose and put a smile on their face.

WHY DO THESE MESSAGES MATTER TO YOU?
Yiddishkeit / Judaism is fresh, modern and is as relevant as it was Hundreds of years ago. Somewhere along the way though, colours and beauty somehow started to be associated with negative and the colours of brown, black and white became the go-to palette for many religious artists. I want to change all of that and given the popularity of my pieces, it looks like there are so many other people who are seeking that shift too!
